[but it does mean driving to work]
What you are driving? Did someone hijack your account????
I took the plane (actually 2 of them) for my commute. That's a lot faster :)

I know, taking the car sounds weak....just banking some mental energy for a training push later in the month. I don't want to mentally fry myself now, training in crappy weather. I am going to need to put in a big block of training in late Oct while in China and Japan to get ready for Clearwater, and I'm going to be battling time zone changes, flights, weird schedules, business dinners and so on. The timing of this biz trip could not really be worse, but I have to go and actually meet with these customers so it is what it is. So yeah, I plan to be a bit soft for the next 2 weeks, cause I'll have to be pretty hard core at the end of the month....I only have so many matches and I don't want to light them all now. The worst thing on an extended biz trip is to turn into a doughboy, not train, and eat all the restaurant crap. So it's like I am mentally tapering to deal with that upcoming push.

Started the long runs this week after placing 1 AG in a local sprint really not pariculary fast but was raining and took it easy on the bike. Was not worth damaging 7 grand of bike.....LOL!!! Funny thing is 26 seconds kept me out of 4th overall. David Fine from Peddie school and national team qualifer was there. Anywho did 12.5 yesterday. Then today did a intense hour spin class and planned on 8 mile run and felt a twitch in upper right thigh arounf 3.5 miles. By 5 miles it was stinging bad.5k split was 19min 50 sec. too!Put ice then heat when I got home on it. Will see how it feels tommorow but might be out of challenge . On a brighter note rode to work this evening with no ill effects. At least I can ride worse case scenario.

With AmZof looming I actually ran on dirt and grass this morning. Found the XC trails on the nearby school campus. Wonder when they started marking the roots with spray paint? Thought tripping over roots was part of the charm of XC running. Oh well. 5.1 miles. New trail shoes should work nicely in two weeks.

Thanks, truth be told think the real competition in area was doing a 5 mile mud run down a Mguire airfoce base, lucky me. Leg felt good enough to ride 50 miles today.Took it easy kept a 19 mph pace. I am still going to hold off running as the upper thigh right side towards mid ( upper vastus Lateralis or the Sartorius) is still sore when I walk. I will give it a slow run on tommorow see how it feels. Was planning on trying to get 60 miles in this week. Unless I make up with two 12.5 milers might not get done. Oh well there is always a next week.

9 1/2 mile ride home from work @ 19 mph, followed 2 hours later by a nice high intensity spin class with lots of resistance for a 1 hour and five minutes then 4.75 miles on dreadmill in 35 minutes. Did 7 1/2 min miles, 7 min. miles and 8 min miles. Did not want to push leg. Thinking about trying a 12 miler tommorow at around 8 1/2- 9 min miles. Just so boring at that pace on dreadmill. Leg still feels a bit sore but not that bad.
Dev not really chasing but at this point its all about running. My tolerance ( W/family and coworkers) levels are off if I do not run. Tried to replace with 55 miles on bike yesterday but that only worked for a hour or so.
What did your damn 100 run in a 100 day challenge do to me? I havent stopped running since............ LOL ..........NOT THAT THATS A BAD THING

These statements sound a bit in contrast to one another, no?
I am the resident grump today I think, very tired and cranky. I need sleep.

It was the distance I was looking at. But it is your decision to make - I don't know how your legs feel or what the injury is.
Hope whatever you run tomorrow goes well!

Better that someone else either than me is the resident grump today. This morning 60 min ride with 5x4min @ 240,250,260,270,280W then 15K roller ski workout. Evening was 64 min run with 15x300m @10K pace with 100m recovery jog followed by 1x900m @ 10K pace, so approximately 5k of running at race pace. I have a 10K coming up in 2 weeks and if I feel motivated next weekend potentially another 10K or half marathon, so I'm working the foot speed.

I will likely be the resident grump again today too (I prefer the word "cranky" to "irritable" or "grumpy" however). Sh*tty run, good thing I got in the pool because THAT felt good.
7.6 miles - 65 min
2600 yd swim
The question is, do I get coffee - I already had an espresso gel during the workout, so I've had 2 "servings" of caffeine. Coffee might help me be less cranky though.

One
serving
of caffeine is whatever amount it takes for you to not feel shitty. Ergo, if you still feel shitty, you have not yet had one
serving
of caffeine. Drink up, it can only help.

I'm trying to avoid getting more attached to caffeine than I already am. I like it as a sometimes thing... pretty soon I will be one of those adults who is dependent on it!!!!!!

Today went real well took it easy round a 9:30 min pace (hardly moving) ended up doing a very hilly course. One road was actually named Hill Rd. Legs felt good going up but coming down hurt a bit. Ended up doing 14.2 miles. Stupid I know but did not hurt to bad and I was slow. Funny enough feels real good now just would not sprint with it though. Boring run with out my Ipod. If it was not for a few dogs scaring the hell out of me and a horse that ran along side me for a bit ( from behind a fence) would have been real boring. Will do a light run again tommorow and take it from there again. I needed a long slow "fat" burning run anyway. Think my average HR was 135 never went above 160 bpm even in the hills.

My plan for the day: surf ST while drinking coffee, do homework, maybe a nap, read for fun, maybe a movie
Have an invite to go out to dinner but will probably skip it, I don't feel like Chinese.
