Does this exist? Power / HR / Two Bikes
Can't Post
I'm making up my holiday wish list and was wondering if there is any product out there that allows me to capture HR, pace, power on one wrist device? Also looking to be able to transmit power readings from two bikes without having to go through majory bike surgery every time I decide to go from one bike to the other. Does this exist? Spoke to the Polar guys and they said that their power meter would only do readings from one sensor and since it's hardwired, major bike surgery. Seems like a trasferrable sensor unit would be the ticket. Garmin, Cyclops, Cateye???

Can't do it on the wrist, but the Powertap system can accomodate as many bikes as you want without major surgery for $65/bike to get another wired harness. If you get the 2.4 wireless system...even cheaper...just a cheap CPU handlebar mount on each bike. Then just swap the CPU and wheel between bikes...2 minutes or less. I've been operating this way for 5 years and it works well for me.

I heard new powertap wireless will have ANT so in theory you could use the new foreunner 405 on the wrist?

why the wrist? get a PT SL2.4, a Garmin 405. Power's on the head unit (where it belongs) and Speed and HR are on the wrist.

Presumably so that recording can continue off the bike when running.

I understand PT2.4 is compatible with FR305/405 HR (HR data is ANT+Sport), you could do that with the actual model.

Yes - and to be able to upload all data to a single piece of software.

I bought a PT with that plan in mind without realizing that it isn't quite that simple when the road bike is 9-speed and the tri bike is 10-speed. Doh! I guess I need to buy a new road bike. I wouldn't call it major surgery, but swapping the cassette constantly is a hassle.
Polar 625 with two power sensors would do the trick.

Theoretically yes, but the FR305/405 do not and likely will not support bike power display. Yes they are ANT+Sport, but they don't have the firmware support for power, nor do they realistically have the memory capacity to support it.
You will need the Garmin Edge 705 if you want to display ANT+Sport power information (from the upcoming PT ANT+Sport hubs, or from the existing options like Quarq CinQo, SRM Wireless and iBike Aero).

or you could put 10 speed shifters on the road bike (not to ruin your excuse for a new bike :))
