Crank question for Slowman or others?
Can't Post
I seem to remember you commenting you weren't a huge fan of shimano octalink when it first came out as (like me) you pedal heals in and the octalink system reduced the heal clearance.
Was just wondering what you think of the new shimano DA and Ultegra cranks? they appear to have even less clearance...
What are good modern cranks for people who ride heals in?
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

A local "lady of the evening" wears heels when she rides, and she modified one of those running-shoe platform pedals to incorporate a clamp for her stiletto heel-spike. I don't know her Q factor, although I hear it's fairly wide, but she doesn't have any lateral float, and no angular float; maybe that's why she seems to have knee problems...I don't know.
Hope this helps....remember, you said any suggestion would be welcome!

I've broken my right leg twice and tend to ride with that heel in. I find that the old Dura-ace 7410 cranks work well for me. The axle length is only 103mm and the Q-factor is very low. Of course, it could be tough finding a pair since it's an old model.
