Confessions of a back and neck cracker
Can't Post
What I really mean is self adjusting my back and neck. Maybe it's because of all the decades of self abusing my body in contact and non-contact sports. But I do it during the night - I'll wake up and have to crack my neck back into place, or I'll have to adjust my back into place (discs between vertebrate fill and makes it easy to adjust during the night). I do it before and after a workout. I do it as part of my workout on my roman chair, or on my exercise ball. I do it in the office. I will do it whenever no one is listening as my neck adjustment can be loud. It feels great! And there is no way I can stop, specially at night or in the morning when I absolutely have to put myself back together. I was told that something is released when my vertebrate is adjusted, which is one reason why maybe it feels so good.

It feels good because endorphines are sent to the location after the "pop"
From what I have read if you have to do fast, abrupt motions to make it pop you are doing damage to the ligaments and if it is more a slow push then it might not be as bad. Regardless you should try to do it 1 less time per week or something if you want to stop doing it.

Can we start a Crackers Anon group or something? I crack my neck and back constantly, all day, every day. I can't go a period of 10 minuts without contorting my neck in order to relieve pressure. It's almost to the point that people think i have a tick.

It's definitely slow push and not a fast abrupt motion when I self adjust.

I am the exact same. I must pop close to a 50 times a day. I have stopped popping my fingers completely. I am working on my back and neck now.

Consider me a member. Friends and coworkers cringe when I habitually crack my back and neck. I tell them that's not the worst, and they should hear my knees when I stand from a squat (or the sounds my bones make when I first wake up). Doctor and therapist said it's nothing to be concerned about, but it even creeps me out sometimes.

I slowly look up up up when I'm at the urinal, until I crack. Pretty much every time, and I drink a lot of water when I'm at work.

My knees do the same thing in the opposite direction, they crack when I squat down. I crack my fingers (all joints) quite a few times a day, and my neck/back on occasion.

My back is normally pretty bad. But only if my legs go to the left. So if im laying on my back and move my right leg over top of me. it will crack if i take my left and go to the right it wont do at all. Pretty wierd if you ask me.

Add me to the list of back and neck crackers - even after a laminectomy on my C4 vertebra. The relief is only temporary even after a good pop.
Sure it's funny till somebody gets hurt...then it's hilarious.

Chiropractors are awesome. Next time I will marry one, but for now I have taught my wife the art of subluxation (she adjusts me frequently). I have to show her how to adjust my back in the nude for the full effect.

There is no harm in cracking your neck, back, knuckles, other people's skulls.
Hmmm what else involves the buildup of tension then a release...

Negative. If you add any letters/words to "cracker", then my claim is automatically void.
