Compression ("Power") Lycra?
Can't Post
I'm looking (still) at a new pair of bib shorts for cycling. Some of them have compression (or "power") lycra technology that supposedly helps reduce muscle fatigue. Some don't. The non-compression shorts are more comfortable off the bike, but I'd be willing to go for the compression lycra if it really works. Thought? Opinions? Wise cracks?

The only "compression shorts that I have found to be tri worthy" are DeSoto......I just bought Pearl Izumi Tri shorts.....they just do not support as well...

Thanks. In case it makes any difference, I'm talking about pure cycling bibs. In particular, I'm thinking of the Giordana Tenax, although there are many others (Hincapie, Assos, etc.)

Yep, Desoto power shorts are 'da bomb'. Rated and recommended. I prefer the '03 type with ribbed material though as I find the amount of pure compression slightly higher than the slicker smooth lycra of the '04 model. Both jkallen13 and myself are waiting for our '05 editions to come through for our seasons racing so I'll have a good look then.

The best I've used are the Louis Garneu Alveo bibs. I absolutely love then.

I tried on a pair of compression shorts over the weekend. My nuts did not agree with them and I thought the little guys were permanently riseeding into my crack. I took them off and bought non-compression ones.
