Cancun 70.3 - Drinking the water Can't Post
Has anyone done this in the past. I am from the U.S. doing it this year and want to know what to do about drinking the water at aid stations (bike and run)? Is it bottled water (bike), or from bottled water source (run) (as opposed to tap water in a water bottle or dixie cup), and if so, can you drink it and not get sick?

Also, I am going to rent some race wheels, and the official site says that they do not recommend disc because of winds. Thinking I will rent Zipp 808's then. Any advice on this one as well.

I am doing this race for the first time too. I read that the water on the run will be served in bags and I assume is safe. They did this at ITU LC worlds in Australia in 06 and it was great: You can grab two or three cold bags of water and shove em in your suit to keep you cool. They are easy to tear open and allow you to drink the water efficiently and conveniently. You don't necessarily have to wait to drink at aid stations because you can take the water with you.

As for the bike course, I have no idea. May be better off just bringing some tequila...

Did it last year
-rode my disk no problem, but weather was pretty mild
-water on the aid stations on the run was in plastic bags and was fine. Didnt pick up water on the bike so cant speak to that. Course is PERFECTLy flat so no reason not to bring water on bike
-TONS of flats last year- little sharp coral gravel on the bike course- bring armored tires!
