CW-X Tights
Can't Post
In the last couple issues of Runner's World I have noticed ads for the CW-X tights. Designed to provide extra support for joints and muscle groups. Benefits are supposed to be less fatigue and aches and pains. The ad campaign is pretty intriquing to me and thinking seriously about investing in a pair. They are around $100.
Anybody have any experience with these tights. Would appreciate any reviews.

I have a pair. they are nice to keep the wind off your legs on the early morning runs but I don't think they added stellar support. Not bad, but nothing that will have a night and day difference.

I have a pair. They're pretty heavy, which, like the previous poster said, is good for cold running. There is some support/compression there, but it's not off the charts. I personally like them.

You mean CW-X? I have a pair, unfortunatly had to wear them this morning. They are nice though, very comfortable to run in and sometimes when I get home from running I'll just sit around in them if they arent too sweaty because they do provide compression as well. Good for XC skiing too. Check runningwarehouse.com, they have them cheaper there than most places.

I have a pair of the Conditioner, supposedly warm weather tights. I wear them for cold weather runs and I like them, but like the others I'm not sure I notice much dramatic effect. The compression is not nearly
as noticable as compression specific garments, but I don't think it's supposed to be. They are more about the 'conditioning web' to keep your joints in place.
All and all I love them for fall and winter runs, but not sure about the other claims. Get them if you can get a deal, not sure I'd pay MSRP.

like the insulator experts for support in cooler weather, and compression is decent.
ebay seller Edward James Stores quite often has them for less than MSRP:

Echoing what everyone else seems to say, I have two pairs and love them... but, I didn't get either pair for more than 20% off. On sale, they're worth it... $100? Maybe :)

Bought a pair from Edward James Stores. Saved 20% off of the list price. Thanks for the recommendation.
I ran in them Sunday and I really liked them. No way to know if its simply a placebo effect, but I did feel alot better during the run and afterward. It wasn't really cool enough for them, but I didn't get too hot in them. But then again, I did not buy the insulator type. Just the normal weight. All in all, a big thumbs up.

They are kind of cute on, fit true to size, but practically no compression. As others stated I guess they don't claim to have it. Mine were 20% off at backcountry.com, so there's another source for ya.
I like other tights , such as kmeleon, better due to more compression.

If Rappstar doesn't chime in here, PM him. I saw him running in a pair at Fistapalooza. He indicated that he liked them and, if I recall, felt that they were better than other running tights.

I have three pair and really like them over other running tights I have. I use the 'expert' in cold weather and the 'ventilator' in warmer weather. I started using them after I tore my IT band and had a lot of stabilty problems (core muscles were out of whack) when I was finally done with physical therapy and cleared to run again. I felt like they provided needed support while rebuilding my running base. Long runs were much easier with them than without, I didn't feel the same muscle fatigue when running with them. Who knows though, could have been all in my head, either way; it worked for me.

I have the cold weather tights. Can't say I feel any massive benefit in terms of stability or compression. However, I will say that they are awesome for freezing cold runs. They are practically wind proof which is very handy around Dec / Jan in KC. They work great for the purpose I bought them for. On the other hand, there is simply no way I would buy ANY tights from them or anyone else for hot weather. Even if it worked somehow, it would drive me nuts.

I have a pair but I dislike them. I was between sizes so I sized up as the salesman suggested. Whenever I run in them with any regularity I develop problems in my lower legs. It feels like compartment syndrome or something. So I don't run in them anymore.
I do keep them around to pop onto my legs after a race. Just in case compression helps with recovery.

I agree with the statement about the weather. As I said earlier, I have the Ventilator tights but I only wear them for cold weather. I've worn them for a few cool weather runs, and they weren't horrible, once they get a little wet they seem like they actually do draw a little heat away from the skin, but I would never consider wearing them above 60 degrees. I wear them for a lot of my 30s and 40s degrees runs these days, I feel plenty warm in them so far but I do sock my partner if you catch my drift, no blue tip for me thanks.
I guess a recap of what I've said earlier in this thread, I like these tights. When I put them on, my legs just feel good under the sturdy tight knit. They aren't life changing, but they are still a quality running tight.

I purchased a pair of the warm weather running tights. I tend to have soreness after my long runs (10 miles). I fund that the tights cured this. They provide enough support to prevent the delayed on set muscle sorenes that I usually encounter. Heck I call them my Magic Tights - I think they work that well.

I love these tights. They feel so snug like they are hugging your legs the whole time. I mean a pair of pants isn't going to give you magical results, but they are super comfy and I really thought the compression was good, especially around the knees. Definitely good for cold weather, as well. If you get them for 20% off, they really aren't that much more expensive than any other decent pair of running tights...

I have been using them for the last 5 or 6 years and love them. If you are looking for some reviews my team has reviewed them a few times throughout the last few years. Note that CW-X is one of our sponsors but the reviews I find are relatively unbiased. I hope this helps.
