Brooks or new balance Can't Post

I currently run in the mizuno precision and sometimes the zoot ultra, both of which work well for me as a light/neutral runner.
I have an opportunity to get one pair of either brooks or new balance running shoes at no cost. Anyone have a suggestion for which shoe would be most like what i currently use?
thanks

The Brooks Ghost or the NB 826 will be your best bets.

Brooks!!! But seriously it depends on what your foot is like. Go to an actual running shop and figure that shit out then buy the shoe that fits your foot best.

I usually go to my local running store and I buy what fit the best, dont care about brand.

I'd suggest the NBx 903. Expensive, but my test pair was also free :)

Lighter than both the Precision and Zoot. Technically not a "neutral" shoe since it has a rearfoot medial post.

I've never worn the Ghost... I wear Brooks Infinity which is pretty baller. Then for racing I'm on the T5 Racer.

Get the one that fits you best. My personal experience - I used NB 85x for years before one day last summer when I did a gait analysis at a national running store with a catchy rhyming name. They convinced me that I was wearing the wrong shoe & that I needed to go w/ Brooks Radius. It took me about a month to figure out that this was a horrible call - I started wearing NB initially because I needed the EE option (which the shoe expert also told me I didn't need). I switched back to NB - 1223s this time & 4 pairs later I couldn't be happier. The Brooks shoe wasn't bad, it was just bad for me.

You are really going to have to try them on. My experience tells me that NB generally run narrow whereas Brooks tend to run a little wider in the fore foot. I have a wide fore foot, so I usually choose Brooks over NB.

I'd add: then buy a bunch of gels from them, or running socks, or somehow support that store, esp. if it's a small running shop. they're providing a service by having shoes you can try on.

I switched from Newtons to the Ghost last week. I've got a handful of runs int he ghosts so far and really like them.

I'm using the Ghost as my race shoe and loving it.
