Unless you get a shop discount at your Trek/Bontrager dealer, you're not going to find them any cheaper online. Trek only deals through walk-in shops and no online ordering except through their website.

It figures that their own web site does not have the most commonly needed size in stock. No 700x23's.

There was a thread a few weeks ago in which a source in Europe was identified. Good price IIRC but shipping might be expensive unless you can find some friends to make a group buy.

But only when used on the front correct while the 23 on the rear is faster. I have been following your post long enough to know better I think.

Re: Bontrager Aero TT tire Source? [BMAN] [In reply to] Can't Post

well step 1 is does this tire match gloriously with your rim?

the 19mm matches the NON C2 Hed Jet90 perfectly

the 23mm does not meld all that gloriously with my cheap as normal rear wheel, don't know if the 19mm does, haven't tried it.

I think its mostly speculation, or educated guess as to whether the 23 or 19 is better in the rear.

Its probably splitting hairs that are pretty thin =)

I went with 23 in the rear just in case that gives me more comfort and flat resistance. But then my rear wheel is nicely covered up by my frame =)

Maybe...but if you're going to use a 23 on the rear since tire/rim aerodynamics effects may be lessened, then there are a lot better rolling 23c tires than the Aerowing TT.

So...I have a C2 Jet 60 front. 19 or 23 for this bad boy?

Re: Bontrager Aero TT tire Source? [MOP_Mike] [In reply to] Can't Post

neither one really achieves a seamless transition from wheel to rim from the pictures I've seen posted here.

19 is going to be faster up front regardless probably but, you might consider other 19mm front tires if some have better rolling resistance, since the wing feature + C2 rim doesn't work out so hot.

Yah. Thanks, that's what I recall from the other thread. I was hoping I was wrong. :(

I'm running 21mm Zipp clinchers right now, but I suppose there are lower Crr tires to choose from. I wonder what kind of puncture resistance I'd give up with the lower Crr choices, though...

Interestingly enough, I have a non-C2 jet disk in the back of my non-seatposted Titanflex and so might benefit from a TT 19 in the rear...

that zipp tire ain't bad, probably not worth messing with.

sadly you can't really know if the aero-TT works out well with a wheel until you try it

non-c2 hed jets are cheap used though =)

Re: Bontrager Aero TT tire Source? [Tom A.] [In reply to] Can't Post

Well since the thread is about the Bontrager tires only, would you say that it would be better to have the 19mm upfront and the 23 in the rear for the best set up on these tires or would you go with 19mm all around or 23 all around.

Personally, I go for the 19s front and back...but if I was going to run a 23 on the back, I'd go with something that has a lower Crr and basically the same "robustness", like the Bontrager RXL Pro 23 if you want to keep it in the Bonty family...

Here is a 19mm TT on my Hed 60 C2. I love it and think it transitions well.

But be carefull for getting the "older" bontrager aero TT tire. I bought this summer 3 bontrager aero TT 19mm tires but all three were > 200 gram. So I am also interested to know were can I buy the new bontrager tires online in America? Because bontrager.com doesnot sell to europe :-(

I think you are talking about http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/

But they've adjusted their price since then - it's no longer £18 ($30ish) but £27 ($45ish), which with shipping would be in line with the US price.
