Yeah of course. The most power wins, right? Isn't there a special column for that in the result list right next to the one with poor excuses?? :-)
Just to be clear I was purely speculating to answer a question and I'm well aware of that it's the W/cda and W/kg in this instance that wins the race.

Run and bike Vo2max and max heart rate has pretty much always been the same for me in the tests I've done.

"I'm no world class cyclist but my stats are;
Height: 188cm
weight: 82kg currently
max heart rate: 204
resting: 37
vo2max: Around 7l/min measured a few different times.
"
Just need to take 10 units off row number 2 and you're in the range...take 5 more units off and....or as Eddy Merkx answered Indurain, when asked what it would take Miguel to win the TdF, when Miguel was still a Perico Delgado waterboy, "... lose 5 kilos..."

holy smokes that's a relative 85!! I am wondering how much you trained it. Could you tell us what has been your earliest/lowest Vo2 test ?

It looks like you are on a Seduza...? Why not the flagship Lucero Lite? Just curious...
Good luck at IMLP!!

Umm, 10kgs off would be quite hard without getting terminally ill.. Plus all else staying the same that would put my numbers off the chart and is not really realistic. I might be able to lose 5kgs at the very most if I focused just on cycling and quit swimming and running but that's about it.
Indurain was about 90kg before he started winning the tour btw and was around 80kg when he won but had some huge power obviously.

The earliest lab Vo2max test I remember was in 99 and I think I scored 6.7l/min then. Depending on how well calibrated each testing equipment has been it's been going up to 7.1 as the highest value the last time I tested a couple of years ago.

It's a long story but it's basically the same as the lucero lite except for a slight weight handicap so it's a good frame anyway.

Bjorn...if you go see Coach Desertdude, he will put you or anyone who puts up with him on the 10-15 KG weight loss eating plan....heck a pencil neck like me lost 2.5Kg in 4 weeks on the desertdude "small plate only" plan :-)...but yes, I realize that it would be ridiculous to lose too much....I am pretty sure that Indurain was down in the 75/76 Kg range when whe was winning the Tour.

We will have to agree to disagree on that part. There's actually no way I could weigh 72kg at 188cm and still compete as an "elite" triathlete, or cyclist for that matter.
And Indurain was never as low as 75/76kg and actually won the tour at over 80kg a couple of times according to most reports.

I'm sure there are tons more stuff that I've missed but I'm certain the collective wisdom of Slowtwitch will step in and point them out in no time.. :-)
One could only wonder what kind of sad, underachieving triathlete you would be these days with out the contributions and critiques from the Slowtwitch crowd.
