Best Tri saddle out there? Can't Post

I've tried 3 different saddles for my P2C but can't find one that really works. I tried 2 Profile Design's but didn't like the cover on them. It brought a new meaning to the term "Fire Crotch," even though I'm not a red-head. My stock saddle was managable for about 1 hr, but after that I go numb. I am trying a Fiz'ik Airone Tri2 today and will see how that goes. Just curious if anybody else some suggestions for super-comfy saddles. Weight is not an option.
I got heart baby!

If the Fiz'ik Airone Tri2 does not work try the Adamo series.

ISM Adamo saddle. I bought one off ebay for about 80 bucks a 2 months ago. I used to suffer from constant numbness and could not stay in the aero position for longer than 5-10 minutes without adjusting. The Adamo has instantly cured all the numbness issues and is extremely comfortable. Highly recommended.

Just out of curiosity, can the Adamo accomodate a flat wing behind it?

I second the Airone, I use it on my dual and it is excellent.

Adamo Race. If you stay in the aero position, this saddle is great (I also had hot spot issues with the PD saddle)[email]

Less is sometimes more. I started out with heavily padded seats and found that they were too big and bulky and caused way too much friction. I found that I don't need all the padding for a comfortable ride and have been riding a Fi'zik Arione for awhile now and ride 4+ hours with no issues.

i would highly recomend the arione tri or the specalized toupe. however, at least for me, both took a week or so of riding to really get comfortable on (little less for the arione), but i love both now and can ride for hours on them.

Yes, a Flat Wing will fit on the Adamo without a problem.

Which toupe did you use? There ar a few versions of them and I've no idea if there is a substantive difference.

Darrell:

Three questions...

1) Do you guys have a black one in stock?
2) Do you ship to MD?
3) With the forward postioning of the Adamo does it feel like you are sliding off of the seat or aer you stable?

PM me with answers to the first tow if you want,.

Thanks,

Bob

Re: Best Tri saddle out there? [Macho Grande] [In reply to] Can't Post

We stock the black, gray and occasionally have a white one in stock. We can ship worldwide, including Maryland.

With the Adamo you don't feel like you're sliding off the saddle at all. We do seem to see more variation amongst riders/users with the Adamo in terms of saddle tilt. Some like the nose down and some actually prefer it nose up. The saddle would need to be at a pretty severe angle to feel like you're sliding off the end. The saddle rails on the Adamo are longer than most so you can actually get a few degrees steeper with the saddle than other brands. Setting it up is a little different as the nose is truncated. There is a line in the center of the saddle which gives the relative center compared to other saddles.

I really like the Arione Tri 2 and actually would even ride the road version of the Arione on my tri bike.

Re: Best Tri saddle out there? [TriNick99] [In reply to] Can't Post

I used to have numbing issues and forked up the cash for a Selle SMP Pro for my road bike and it completely solved the problem. But it forces you to put all of your weight on your sit bones, and without chamois cream my butt gets sore after 2-3 hours. And it's not comfortable in the aero position for me. On my TT bike I'm using the Specialized Alias, and no issues with numbness. It's cheaper than the Toupe. I think Specialized now has a tri-specific saddle.

Re: Best Tri saddle out there? [Darrell] [In reply to] Can't Post

i ride with rails parallel and still feel as if i will ride off the front. when moved fwd, feel like i'm sitting on too much of the seat. scoot bwd, and sitting on the "front" couple of inches of the seat and one of the "prongs" rubs my inner thigh. question: do you recommend lowering the seat or dropping the front end/ angling down a few degrees first? i'm not in favor of lowering the seat as my knee angle is ~ 150 with flat heel, no knee pain; but will try if recommend. afraid to angle front end much more b/c i'll slide off the front!!!!!! please give another perspective. thanks in advance.

Re: Best Tri saddle out there? [srvpt] [In reply to] Can't Post

Occasionally we will use a couple of zipties on the front of the saddle rails to bring the prongs a little closer together. Give that a try. Just attach the zipties around the forward most part of the saddle rails, the part where they're vertical. Remember that the saddle was designed to be ridden on the nose so that your sit bones are on the prongs.

If that doesn't work I would try to angle the nose a bit up or down, you'll have to play with it the see what feels best for you.

I have the Arione tri also and love it too. I have heard great things about the road version on tri bikes as well.

Can you ride the Adamo in a road position? Or is it only good if you're aero?

There's a road version of the Adamo. I think the difference is in where the padding is to accommodate if you sit up or in aero more.

Re: the question about which is the best tri saddle, my choice is the adamo. And yes, the flatwing will work with the adamo.

So it' softer in the back, but is it the same in the front? I use my bike for both tri and road.

Re: Best Tri saddle out there? [TriNick99] [In reply to] Can't Post

Im suprised that the selle san marco aspide hasnt been mentioned, i love this saddle. I have a very aggressive position and spend almost all of my time on the nose in the aero position. I had the specialized toupe before and it was comfortable but after a few months it just started bothering me on longer rides, im not sure if the padding broke down or if i started riding more towards the nose(which has very minimal padding) but that wasnt going to cut it. I know saddles are a very personal thing but i would suggest looking at this one.
