The Wright sock "Running" model has been very good to me.

i second injinji socks... the separate toes are pretty weird at first, but if ultra runners who run in mega heat (badwater / marathon des sables) endorse them, they might be good...

tried 'em out -- trained for & ran 5 marathons in them... no blistering or movement -- ever... they are comfy...

I tried a pair of Nike Elite Running socks recently (the $12 version; they make about 3 or 4 variations) and they're pretty awesome.

Another vote for the Wigwam Ultimax. Never had a blister, after 10 marathons.

x2 for the Kinsei sock. I used to be an Injini guy, but the Asics Kinsei is much better in weight, wicking, and comfort.

SMARTWOOL

x2. I ran the TCM in heavy rain and Smartwool last weekend and had no blisters, no pain in my feet, no problems. I wish I could swaddle my quads in Smartwool now.

DeFeet socks rock.

I'm a big fan of the Gu logo'd ones (for obvious reasons).

I had been running in WrightSocks, Throlo's were too thick. I received a pair of Wigwam inGenius socks at a race and liked those a little better.

EDIT: I hadn't run into Injinji socks or must not have been paying attention. Well, all the posts got me curious and it looks to me like the inGenius is Wigwam's attempt at a knock-off.

If you have proper fitting shoes you don't need socks for running. Socks only absorb water which makes the foot heavier, which can only slow you down, in my opinion.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Balega socks yet--my favorite by far. Seamless, come in different weights so whether you like thin, thick, or somewhere in between you can find a pair you like. Love them.

I start to get blisters at around 10 miles without socks. I have one foot a little smaller than the other and the socks seem to cushion the difference. More importantly, the socks tend to ease the rough edges on the inside of the shoe where there is stitching or different materials overlap. You think a shoe company might come up with an integrated sock or make the inside look as smooth and pretty as the outside.
