smartwool in the fall and winter and Balga for the summer months. Balga socks are like cocaine for the feet.

Don't forget the sole choice. I need socks, but almost any sock seems to do. The shoe sole on the other hand...

I like Adidas Sport-performance.

Comfy, and last a long time.

Another vote for Smartwool, especially for trail and bad weather running.

From someone who sells all the socks mentioned in this thread it's Balega by a landslide. If a customer actually tries on all the socks mentioned 8 times out of 10 they'll pick the Balega.

Totally agree on the Injinjis! And, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one wearing them... people look at me funny with my toe socks, but I definitely go with either these or balegas.

second the Wright socks, best socks I've found in thirty years of running. The double layer works very well.

I don't think I have seen the X-Socks mentioned here. Expensive, but they beat Asics, Nike and all the big names. Some models are extremely comfy, and if you go for the race model the fit is incredible.

I trade off between the wright socks and Injinji socks. Both are really good. I trail run in the injinji socks more because they have a bit more cushion and I get frewer hot spots with them as trail running makes for a lot of lateral movement you don't get in street running so much.

I've found that the Asics socks (white with black toes and heels) work extremely well in terms of blister prevention. New Balance also has a double layered sock (black and lime green on one side and white, red, and black on the reverse side), which is a bit warmer but is also softer. In general, for me, the thinner the sock, the better.

I have worn the hidden dry Balega for 3 years now. They are great and last a long time.
