Best IM time Can't Post

Alright, let's have 'em. Location, time, and number of IM's done before your best. Splits too.

Bike 5:11:something (well paced held constant power throughout - 222W avg HR 148)

Run 3:45: This was the disappointing part. Was hoping for sub 3:20. Oh well next time Gadget.

- 9 IM's in total

- Best time, IMC '92, 9:04 (1:00/5:00/3:04) 10th place overall.

Goodness gracious that seems like a lifetime ago! Like it's somehow disconnected from reality.

15 IMs under my belt including 3xIM Hawaii.

Best time was IM Florida in 2000: 10:19:48 - S 1:11, B 5:14, R 3:47 ( I did have a disavantage against the young kids - I was 3 months shy of my 50th birthday)

Re: Best IM time [CCF] [In reply to] Can't Post

11 Total.

Fastest was IMC 95: 56 min swim, 5:17 bike, 4:07 run, 5 min of transitions, 10:25. Although this was a PB time it was a horrible meltdown on the run as I had done the race sick and could not digest any food. I was hoping to run sub 3:40...shoulda coulda woulda :-)

My best was LP 1999: 62, 5:41, 3:45, for a 10:36 including those outrageously long transitions at LP. The best part was that I finished strong coming back from the final run turnaround. I did this race with only two rides of 180k. All my other rides were 90K hard or less. I was also doing leg weights for 15 min after every run until 10 days before the race.

IMFL 2003 12:28. 1:20ish, 5:50ish, 4:50ish, lots of time in T1, T2. I was actually glad to be running during the dark, since there was a full lunar eclipse. Race was nice, and I beat my goal time (13), but more satisfying (to me) was starting the Ironwishes.org foundation that has raised about $200k for Make A Wish through participation by more than 40 IM triathletes.

I've done a bunch.

They tend to be in the 6 1/2 - 7 hour range.

Then I roll over and get out of bed.

IM Austria, 2004, my first one - total 11:14:xx, Swim 1:10, Bike 5:32, Run 4:15, and yes I did run, only walked at the aid stations.

I'm very happy with this first time PR, and hope to break it next year.

Dev,

You are awesome. Regardless of the course. Regardless of age you do roughly the same time. Keep it rolling bro! You will be going 10:30ish when you are 50+. I know it!!

Okay, let me get this started for slower folks...

IM Wisconsin 2003, first and only (for now) IM in 14:22 with a run (run/walk/stagger) time slower than the bike:

S 1:13, B 6:18, R 6:32 (yeah, it hurt immensely), 1047/1806, M40-44 143/252.
