Ageless Joe and his water bottle setup Can't Post

Does anyone know what type of setup Joe is using here.. (The official 2008 Ironman Kona, Hawaii thread, photo on page 4)

It looks like he just 'stuffs' the water bottle into a 'holster' that has a straw.

Thanks!
Don

Something he made himself. I believe support crew mentioned as much last year and that he potentially had plans to market it...

He makes them in his garage. It's a plastic 'tub' that is double walled and has a hole large enough for most commercial (gatorade) waterbottles. He gets the bottles at aid stations and they let the fluid out into his homemade container as he drinks out of the straw. It's a pretty slick setup.

Yes, he made it himself. Has made several others.

First iteration was out of styrofoam. He used an acrylic for this and has the mold still. Works great since you can just dump the bottle/gatorade in at an angle and it just empties as you use. Very aero. I get first dibs on one though!

Now if he can make it with dimples then he'd be all set.

Depends on the model...the Race Lite and S3 Lite show up on AFM's chart at ~16W where the Pro2Race is at 15W and Pro3Race is at 15.1W. Tons of people (myself included) race a lot on the Pro2 or Pro3...are you saying they are crazy too? Are you calling me crazy? Smile
