70.3 Series Race this summer
Can't Post
Hey a buddy of mine is looking for a place to do his 1st 70.3 race summer 2009. We live in Colorado but he wants to get away from the Altitude and make it a vacation for him and his family. I haven't done any 70.3/half iron distance outside of CO. Any sugestions?

Depending on the age of his family, Disney 70.3 in FL is a great race to bring the family. It takes place in Fort Wilderness on Disney property (except bike goes off property). You can rent a cabin at Ft. Wilderness, and stay for an extended time afterward. It is a bit of an early season race, especially if he is in the mountains of CO. This past year it was 5/18. Swim takes off from the beach at Ft. Wilderness, bike starts at Ft. Wilderness and goes in a big loop, and then 3 loops in Ft. Wilderness for run. It would be nice for the family to watch as well. Can be hot and humid, especially compared to CO though. He can probably get reasonably priced tickets from DIA to Orlando as well.

I live up in Silverthorne and we made the drive out to Kansas this year. My wife went to KU so she got to show me around 'her town'. The area and the race were great and we'll probably be back again this year. Contrary to popular belief (all of) Kansas is not flat!
