2008 Muncie Endurathon Can't Post

Who is going to be there?

What is your last week going to look like leading up to the event?

Best Wishes,

IndyRider

See you there! :)

My week will consist of easing up a lot on the running--I'm recovering from some IT band issues. Plus, that run is gonna be HOT and I want to save as much as I can until then!

I'll be there.

Last week depends on work and family, just like the weeks before. Who knows...?
It'll be a light week, for sure. I'll be prepping for the heat making an IMLou training day out of the whole thing.

I remember the bike as being relatively flat (but windy). Looking forward to it. See you there. Good luck to you.

I'll be there. No solid plans on training the week leading up to the race. I've been feeling more fatigued than I would like lately, so probably more rest than training.

I am looking forward to Muncie. I had a hard ride yesterday and will do a long slow run today, then start to take it down. It is going to be important to be well rested and hydrated. I plan on continuing my daily swimming thru Wednesday. I will cut down on the distance on both the bike and run, but will do a little speed work early in the week, then rest...rest.....rest and look forward to having fun in the heat!

Best of luck to everyone!

I'm in . . . and I completely forgot to make hotel reservations. Any recommendations . . . with the caveat that I don't want to stay at the church . . . and it's just me.

. . . and how well supported is this race on course? I am trying to determine how many water bottle holders I need.

I'll be there. I did a 75 mile ride and a 10 mile run this weekend. I'll be doing a ~35 mile road race Wednesday night. Other than that, just daily easy-ish workouts this week.

I will be there. I haven't swam since December but my only goal this year is to beat more people then I did last year. I beat 8 people that didn't DNF so it is not a hard goal to try and beat...

GO jaretj!!!! I hope you have a great day at Muncie! Race hard and fast. Don't leave anything on the race course. Don't hold back...anything else would be sacrificing the gift.

how well supported is this race on course?

Very well....lots of everything. And year after year they have the most AWESOME volunteers. It's a great race...I'm kind of sad I'm not doing it this year.

Re: 2008 Muncie Endurathon [IndyRider] [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm in again this year......I'll be racing on zero (0) running miles since IMCDA due to a shin muscle irritation.....but this past weekend I did get in a 30+ mile ride and then a nice 103 mile ride on Sat. so at least my cycling will be back in line....whether I can run or not will be determined coming out of T2.....

The rest of this week is going to be at least three mid length bike rides with at least one ride with hill repeats......Not sure how to stay fresh for the run without running so I'll just ride, I guess......

See ya'll there!

We are ready for another great event. Everything is looking good. As mentioned above, the aid stations are well supported with just about everything, and are every mile. The water temp went down a little over the weekend as was 74 degrees 24 inches down, but I expect that to go up a with with some warmer air moving in. I assume it will once again be close to 78 as it is every year! So if you have a wetsuit, bring it!

Any Update on the Water temp? Never Mind!!!

The water temp today (7/9/08) was 76 degrees. This is the same as the last time that we checked it. If you want to wear a wetsuit, you should bring it with you. It is a possibility that the water temperature could still fluctuate greatly at this point.

Do you hand out water/gatorade bottle on the long-course bike? If so, at what intervals?
