Re: Whistler riding partner? [Sharon] [In reply to] Can't Post

When the rockslide blocked access on Hwy99 South of Furry Creek, there was more talk of that highway being upgraded. I don't know that anything will come of it, but it could certainly use resurfacing!

Traffic was really light - especially once we got N of Pemberton. Most of the drivers out there were exceptionally courteous as well. I was really impressed with how slower vehicles pull over to let others stacked up behind them pass - as a rule, not the exception!

None of us went swimming in the lake, but Andy did wade into a waterfall on the climb up Mt Currie!

Dude, you look like you were about to die! That picture reaffirms that my decision not to join you guys was the best decision of my life! haha :)

I was actually feeling a lot better by that point... :D

Had there been any pictures in Lillooet when we finished it would have been a pathetic sight indeed!

We totally forgot to take pictures at the end of the ride. I had wanted to stop at the big Lillooet sign before we went up that last climb into town, but the group was pretty fragmented at that point. By the time we all regrouped all I wanted was to get my damned shoes off. And a Coke. And those chips. Camera what? :p

I've acquired a pair of arm warmers. MEC. Labels cut out.

I figure they're either Alexia's or Andy's.

Are either of you two missing your arm warmers?

  Mine are Pearl's, and I think I've got them ... I think!

Rollin' out (you can't see it, but we're still smiling at this point)

For cuds - proof that I wasn't completely shattered at the rest stop... :p

Climbin' - we seemed to do a lot of this...

I don't think any of us was "all there" at dinner!

By next year the memories of all the pain may have subsided enough for you to get some people on board again...

You're the only one who *might* be able to give Alexia a little challenge on those climbs!

My Element makes a perfect sag wagon. I can fit a couple bikes and lots of crap in it. Really it is because I want to come but have no interest in torturing myself on the bike.

I think Khai is secretly trying to start the latest version of epic camps.

Re: Whistler riding partner? [Khai] [In reply to] Can't Post

Everyone that went on this ridiculous ride... I'm going up to Whistler for the weekend and have an hourish run on Saturday and 2ish hour run Sunday. Any pointers on where to go to do these? And is there somewhere close to do an open water swim?

I'm sorry I was out of town with no internet access. I would have loved to tell you my favorite trails to run and my swim route in Lost Lake! Next time around....it's such a special place.
