yes, they were thong sandals until thong underwear usurped the word thong in the vernacular. oh well.

i 2nd chacos. they have AWESOME arch support and last forever.

I have Keen Bali sandals that I love and wear everywhere, and get compliments on them all the time. They're cute/stylish, but super-comfy and have really good support. They're technically more sandals rather than flip-flops, but Keen also does flip-flops/thongs as well.

I have those too and I LOVE them. (plus you can throw them in the washer when they get that "flip-flop funk")

I have a pair of Teva mush flip flops that are nasty funky... I'm going to try putting them in the wash.

I would think they would be fine. (plus if your sandals get as nasty as mine do, what do you have to lose?) I wash mine in cold and then let them air dry.

Exactly -and they dry out so quickly. I pretty much wear them everywhere. I should get a backup pair for when these wear out!
