I try to stay out of there. The LR is an unhealthy place....plus it's just a waste of time...."My dad can beat up your dad!"

30's still 30, you just stay there A LOT longer. And I'd definitely say that for some 50 IS the new 30. And.... have you seen Cher & Tina Turner lately? HOLY CRAP!

I don't know if you can count Cher - since while she may have been born in 1946 her face is brand new...

I'll agree with you about Tina. And she left 50 behind a long time ago - she was born in 1939!!!

I want those legs. No amount of running or cycling will get me there. Pure genetics.

Who else is a fabulous woman over 50?

So I'm relatively new to this - is there a protocol for admitting you're a guy posting in the women's forum :-)

But to answer your question - Michelle Pfeiffer!!

Yes, you must admit that Womens are smarter and better looking then mens.

You are more than welcome to join in the conversation. :-)

>>Who else is a fabulous woman over 50? ,,

Susan Sarandon (though she's now 60!)

Here's a great quote from a man:

"Women over 50 have a sense of self-confidence that younger ones do not. A certain sense of self-assuredness comes with age -- especially for women, I think. To me, there's nothing more attractive than a woman who doesn't let herself get overly consumed with trying to be someone she's not or feeling like she has to fit into some sort of mold for a man -- or the world in general -- to accept her. Self-confidence is just incredibly sexy, and older women are much more likely to display it than younger women are."

Oh Yeah like the younger man thing...

WOW I didn't realize Tina Turner was actually as old as she is!! Good for her!! :-)

Jenhs, don't know if you had this "age" thing in mind but it's sure better than political name-calling... I checked out the Sarah Palin thread in the LR, it got totally ridiculous. At least you tried having a real discussion.

Other great over or around 50 women: Lucinda Williams, Meg Ryan, I thought I could think of more off the top of my head but can't right now.

My mom can talk football with the boys no problem. She gives me recaps of Pats games and is also a huge Sox fan. I swear she knows more about these teams than a majority of men watching the games.

As for me, I know Brady is out for the season after only part of one game. I don't know who their second string quarterback is but I sure hope he gets along with Moss on the field as well as Brady did.

Re: Anything but politics [QRgirl] [In reply to] Can't Post

On the opposite side of things...

People always think I'm in my late 20's (I know.. sorry I'm a young one..).. and I'm 23. I was out to eat with a bunch of people that I train with in a restaurant full of college kids, and one guy makes a comment about how annoying young people are. I told him to watch himself on those comments, and he responded with "You're like 28 (he's 35).... I'm not making fun of you!" When the rest of the table found out I was only 23, they were all shocked. Now, I think I look like a 17 year old... I've always looked very young, but now I'm concerned! They say its just because I'm responsible and seem like I have my shit together.. I think its kind of insulting. :)

Watch it pal. Some of us know football and actually used to work and travel with a team.

Pats backup is Matt Cassell - who never started a game in the NFL or college (he was the backup QB at USC)

NOTHING wrong with being young, on the "other" side of things! :-)

Seems like many things people say related to age are insulting. And don't worry, maybe when you get older you'll start looking even younger than you already do! (that's what happened to me actually... I never got proofed or carded going into bars when I was younger, but it started happening more when I got older!)

Hahahaaaa!!! I would have laughed in his face.

My masters coach is a 17 year old kid. Suprisingly good as a coach. He is always flipping me shit about my age. What creeps me out is that I could be his mother. Ugh.

  Or his cougar. ;-)
