Anaheim homestay? Can't Post

Hi Ladies

My missus would like to go on a conference in Anaheim this August 7th to 12th.
She's a 30 year old PhD student at Zurich university.
Uni is paying for the flight but not the accomodation which is a bit steep at 200$/night for a PhD student.

I wonder if any of you lives in that area and has an idea for her where to stay or would even be willing to let her sleep on the couch. She's an experienced "homestayer" and - although not a triathlete - pretty good at swimming, biking and running.

Many thanks for your help/ideas in advance!
Uli

I live in Vancouver so I'm no help with somewhere to stay, but she should try the couchsurfing website. There's TONS of people on it and I'm almost certain that if nothing pans out here, you could get something there.

I can't help with a couch... but Anaheim is one of the most hotel-dense cities in the state thanks to Disneyland. There are plenty of cheaper hotels. If she's willing to stay at a bare-bones place I bet she could get a room for $75/night or less. Probably even walking distance to the conference center. Good luck to her!

I just stumbled on that couchsurfing website, and was going to suggest it. WHat a fabulous idea! I think there are some couches in Italy with my name on it!
