some new photos up Can't Post

http://davidsavoiephotography.blogspot.com/

the bridge one is getting printed on canvas, so the water does not look as "off" there.

thanks!

david, i like the first several (bridge, ducks, etc) and the coke machine one. i didn't have time to scroll further, but i'd like to have some prints sometime, you could be a guest artist in my place. call me sometime or email and we can talk about it.

Newbz, nice work. I especially liked the blurring of the water with the slow shutter speeds. Kind of gave the water an interesting, ethereal quality to it. I also liked the sepia tinted stuff. Are you shooting digital and then converting?

One thing I totally admire about you and other talented photographers is your eye for seeing an interesting picture before you take it. Take that staircase picture. How many 1000's of people walked past that bannister every day without noticing it. Unless of course you just take a zillion pictures and show us the ones that worked. I choose to give you credit where it is due.

Nice work.

Re: some new photos up [sc3826] [In reply to] Can't Post

if i told you i didnt would you be angry?

I was on my way back to the boathouse for work and it had just rained so i ran back to this ravine behind it for a few min to shoot, didnt have a tripod with me (was in the car), and didnt have time to go back and get it, so i was setting my self timer and setting the camera on my bag. this ravine only has water in it after it rains so it was not somethign i was planning on shooting.

haha yeah that would not have worked at all handheld, the water ones were from 2-11 sec long each.

good idea using the self-timer too. whenever i've tried using longer exposures the camera always moves a bit when i release the shutter button.
