Wife Update. Can't Post
Well my wife and her mom took Al home today. He is worse off then anyone thought and anymore treatment is meaningless now. The docotrs give him 1-6 months so my wife is going to stay by his side until he passes. It's just so sad. The good news is that they live in a beautiful tiny house by a beautiful lake that he loved more then anything. They plan on letting him sit out by his lake as long as he can. He might not realize he's there but if there is a small chance he is understanding he is by the lake it will bring him comfort.

So I will be swinging solo for the new few months. Oh how fun. :-(

Tibbs,

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully the time your wife spends with him will give her an opportunity to grieve and have some closure. He is lucky to have a daughter like that. It probably is a testament to the character of the man and the job he did raising her.

I actually thought about this today, and wondered what was happening. Has he gotten past being the total angry guy that he was initially. It would be so good, for all of them, if they got to spend time with, grieve, and say goodbye to the man they've known, not the new guy.

After the meds started wearing off he calmed too level 'cranky old man' but he is out of it more and more.


Thanks everyone for the kinds words. I also think my wife speaks of Al's goodness. She has made a lot of dumb choices like me but never stops trying to improve herself. Al gets a lot of credit for that.

Well if my shoes and shins can hang on I am already on the path for a half marry in May. Even if one or both got shit I will still be able to be 45 pounds lighter.
