Update: iPod Nano 3rd Gen Beeps Twice Can't Post

My iPod Nano 3rd generation got wet on my run today (I splashed some water on my arm and it ran into the port). About ten minutes later the thing dies (full battery). When I try to turn it on, it just beeps twice and nothing happens. I've searched Apple's site but can't find this specific issue.

Has anyone else gotten this model wet? Did it come back to life? I really really hope I didn't just kill one of my most valuable training aids. TIA

I just read a news story yesterday on Yahoo! discussing a bevy of problems with the new 3G version. It seems like the early adopters are just getting hammered by issues.

I've had it for about a year without any problems at all. I'm pretty sure it's from me dumping a squirt of water right on it (I was wearing the arm band sold by Apple, but upside down so that the port is on top, and that's where the water got in I think).

Arrrrggggghhhhhhhh

You're confusing the 3rd generation iPhod Nano and the iPhone 3G. And, of course, it's important to remember that even if 1% of someone's products are faulty, all you're going to hear about online are those 1%.

Let it dry out for 4 or 5 days. Water wont do that much harm if you dry it out properly.

A friend once spilled an entire vase of water on my old PowerBook, right onto the keyboard. I ripped out the battery as fast as possible, poured the water out of the computer, and kept it under dry warmth for a week and it worked fine for a few years afterwards.

Dont try to turn it on any more. Place it in a bag of uncooked rice for a few days. The rice will pull the moisture out of the ipod.

Update: I took it by the Apple store today and they replaced it. Yay.
