Man Held In Obama Death Threat
Federal agents find weapons cache in Floridian's car, hotel room
AUGUST 7--A Florida man is facing federal charges for allegedly threatening the life of Senator Barack Obama. According to a criminal complaint, Raymond Geisel made the threats while attending a recent bail bondsman training course in Miami. During that course, Geisel allegedly told another attendee, "That nigger, if he gets elected, I'll assassinate him myself." Another attendee told investigators that Geisel, 22, also said that he wanted to put a bullet in President George W. Bush's head. Confronted by federal agents, Geisel denied threatening Obama, but said that if he wanted to kill the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee "he would simply shoot him with a sniper rifle, but then he claimed that he was just joking," according a U.S. District Court affidavit. A copy of that document, sworn out by Secret Service Agent Paul Adie, can be found below. Searches of Geisel's car and hotel room turned up a loaded 9mm handgun, military fatigue uniforms, a machete, armor-piercing bullets, body armor, batons, a stun gun, assorted knives, and tear gas canisters. Here's what makes NO SENSE:
Raymond Geisel made the threats while attending a recent bail bondsman training course in Miami.
WTF is he doing in a bail bondsman training course if he has history of mental illness??? I am all for fairness and equality... but do we really want people who are mentally unstable in a courtroom/situation where people may be agitated and possibly wearing weapons (i.e. police officers, security guards)??
Can you say 'background check"?

First, where does it say he has a history of mental illness. I'm not saying he doesn't, but where did you see that?
Second, have seen Dog the Bounty Hunter?
Third, were any of the things he had, illegal to possess in his circumstance?
I love when the media says "Police discovered a gun and ammunition". Holy SHIT, not only did he have a GUN, but he had freakin' BULLETS for it!

So, after reading this I wonder why he was arrested for threats against Obama, but not Bush.?
thought that myself. Is there a minimum sentence for threatening the president or candidate?
I'm starting to doubt that he will, but if BO wins, security will be incredible around him. Hell, it already has to be. There are a lot of crazies that don't want to see him where he is now, let alone potus. CNN was interviewing people last week that still believe - and refuse to accept otherwise - he's muslim.

I believe that he is a Muslim sympathizer. I think if my father was a Muslim and I had other relatives, including a half brother, who are Muslims, I would be more sympathetic also.

I could care less if he was green with tattoo of you on his butt. what does muslim sympathizer have to do with anything? If he were catholic, would he be a catholic sympathizer?
If he were to sympathize with terrorist that be a different story. Non the less, these folks just thought he was muslim, and they didn't care otherwise.

Do you know about the sentencing part? how much time can someone get for threatening to assassinate the pres or candidates?

I think you are over-reacting. I said I would be more sympathetic to Muslims if my father had been one. But as it is, I am pretty much down with the negative stereotype.
I think the "sympathizer" thing worked some of you up. I knew the words would incite some of you, but try not to take it too literally. It was intended somewhat satiracally--like the New Yorker cover. I bet that flipped you out as well.

(CNN) — After barely a week on the job, Barack Obama's Muslim outreach adviser resigned from the campaign after an old business connection with a fundamentalist Islamic imam surfaced last week.
Mazen Asbahi, a Chicago corporate lawyer, stepped down Monday after joining the campaign on July 26 as its national coordinator for Muslim affairs. The Wall Street Journal first reported the resignation on Tuesday night.
BHO has a National Coordinator for Muslim Affairs? Sounds sympathetic to me.
