Ski Dubai.....Tri Dubai......what next? Can't Post
Cool show on DHDTV right now (on the east coast at least) -- Extreme Engineering "Ski Dubai."

They're building an indoor ski slope (as part of a nw shopping mall) in the middle of the desert purely to stake claim as THE mall in region.

Seeing this reminded me of the whole Tri Dubai concept, and though right now it appears to be nothing more than a pro "team"--there have been murmurs of an eventual race in Dubai, or even the creation of an entire course strictly for triathlon. After seeing this show, I would not be the least bit surprised to see the creation of such a course/venue.

Tourism, tourism, tourism! Pretty amazing what they're doing to "get on the map."

The next thing you know they're going to do something even crazier like trying to build a huge artificial island shaped like a palm tree that you can see from outer space. (remember, you heard it here first)
