I know you guys are all going bonkers over that vitally important to the future of the world hunting accident, but have you noticed the complete change in the debate over the NSA program? It seems like only a couple weeks ago that Bush was Nixon (but not JFK, of course) and the NSA program was an assault on the rule of law and apple pie. Now it looks like Congress might not even bother having an investigation. If they do have hearings, the only topic will be how can we amend the law to allow the NSA to continue the program unabated but maybe bring a few more members of Congress into the loop periodically so that they can say they are doing their job. The debate about the program is over. The only thing left is for those who went apoplectic over the program to negotiate their terms of surrender. For those of you still stuck on impeachment, my offer to contribute to an all impeachment all the time cable TV channel still stands. ____ This forum is going to be a place of civil discourse, and those who wish to foment hate and discord are no longer welcome here. -- slowman 11/8/04 Art Franke
