Oral vs Inhaled Steroids for Asthma Can't Post

Are there any MD's out there who can comment on switching from oral asthma steroids to inhaled? A friend of mine has been on an oral steroid for YEARS with fantastic results, but horrible side effects (thin skin, skin bruising, glaucoma, etc). Is there a danger in switching to the inhaled versions, which supposedly are without the side effects or at least greatly reduced. Any truth to this?

Secondly, if they do switch, are the side effects reversible, i.e., will their skin thicken back up, will the bruising stop?
