Agree, although Don Orsillo stood out on the Angels-Red Sox series continuing the solid work he has done as the Sox play-by-play announcer during the season. Chip Caray was brutal in the Twins-Tigers one game playoff, especially where he called a key line-drive double play late in the game a base hit. It's too bad that TBS got the post-season work over ESPN since Jon Miller does such a good job on the Sunday night telecasts as well as when they had the post-season coverage.

I don't like their voices (Harry Kalas, come back!) but I do like some of their observations - like last night, pointing out that Kershaw's first curve was to the pitcher - "testing it out." That's not stuff that I'm going to pick up on, and I don't know if I've ever heard something as insightful as that in a MLB broadcast.

I also don't mind Ron Darling so much. The only time I get to see the Phillies on TV is when they play the Mets on SNY. I have to say that the Mets broadcast team gives the Phillies a lot of respect on the air.

Aren't all plays in baseball made cold? I mean, we are talking about a sport characterized by lots and lots of sitting and standing with an occasional burst of speed and athleticism.

Well, certainly I see and understand your point. I also agree...athleticism being the key word. The play would be just the same as if it was a starter where the first batter hits the first pitch. However, there is a certain flow to the game, I think. They stand out in the outfield and get used to the pitchers timing. They adjust to whatever the light conditions may be and being able to pick up/sight the ball off the bat.

Which team has the most come from behind/9th inning wins this season?

-The team whose starting pitching left them behind in the first place.

Coming from behind is a bad thing. One thing that gets lost as Lidge's regular season blown saves are discussed; the Phillies were ahead in all those games. Thats a good thing. A VERY good thing. If he converts five of those 11 blown saves the Phillies have the best record in the NL.

Coming from behind is bad. Leading into the ninth is good. I predict another Dodger exit.

Plus, LA doesn't have real fans. They're just like the rest of the LA sports teams.

http://espn.go.com/mlb/attendance not real fans huh, guess which team drew the most fans

oh i know it is cause the seats are empty in the first inning of game that starts at 8 eastern time, but wait it is only 5 in LA

Torre blew it last nigh, after giving a homerun to the number 8 hitter and walking their pitcher he should have pulled him right then and there

Bandwagon fans. Fashionably late. "Does my hair look good?" "Whose jersey should I buy? Is Derek Jeter on the team?"

If what you're trying to say is that it's better to be ahead than behind, well, you're a genius.

I'd mind this less, if Padilla had been able to pitch like that when he was a phillie.
where'd that come from?
guess this is a real series. oh well.
definitely a winnable game, and a blown opportunity.
