Movie Trailer Review: "Quantum of Solace", New James Bond movie for November 08. Can't Post
The much anticipated, first official trailer for the next James Bond film, "Quantum of Solace" is slated to run before feature films opening in major markets this weekend including "Hancock".

The trailer effectively establishes the segue between the previous bond film, "Casino Royale" and the new "Quantum of Solace". The mysterious name for the new Bond film can be decoded in a splendid chapter of one of Ian Fleming's novels set in the Caribbean and discussing an erroding marriage by one of the central characters with an interesting plot twist at the end of the chapter. If you are a true Bond aficionado you know the passage- if not, I'll let you find it on your own. It's worth the search...

The 01:56 long trailer follows the traditional "Bond" movie trailer format by starting with some dark intros and characterizations and then providing us with some delicious appetizers for the upcoming film including a very brief snippet of the incredible car chase scene that landed four stunt men in the hosptial. There is one blue screen stunt involving an aircraft cockpit which is well done and convincing. Daniel Craig looks fantastic as the new Bond, fit as a fiddle, angry as a scalded cat and dashing as we all wish we were. One unique feature disclosed in the film are some absolutely brilliant cable-cam camera movements that will no doubt wear out the edges of theater seats when the film debuts on Friday, November 7, 2008.

We also get a look at the new Bond girl, Olga Kurylenko as Camille. Based on the glimpse, she blows away Vesper Lynde who died in "Casino Royale".

Tom, God knows I'm all for movie reviews, but are we actually doing Trailer reviews now? And is a Trailer really "much anticipated?"

Daniel Craig is my favorite Bond. He is so welcome after Brosnan.

Judy Dench is where it's at. she is such a bad ass!

i love daniel craig, he's smokin hot, and polished without being prissy. somehow he walks the line between distinguished and tough. mureowwwwwww.

as for the girl, i'm not sure, she looked dull to me outside of the flaming red bob haircut. after looking at waifs for so many years in various films, i'm anxious to see the female trend change to women with curves, boobs and butts. silicone boobs on sticks, i'm so over it.

1) I'm glad someone else out there is as excited/nerdy about the new bonds as I am, good on ya

2) I'm sorry, but there is no way that anyone can top Vesper as a bond girl.

They've done a very savvy job reviving the series. I wonder what it would have been, if anything at all, without the Bourne movies to set the blueprint for a more contemporary Bond.
