Isaac Hayes Died Today Can't Post
Isaac Hayes, the baldheaded, baritone-voiced soul crooner who laid the groundwork for disco and whose “Theme From Shaft” won both Academy and Grammy awards, died Sunday afternoon after he collapsed near a treadmill, authorities said. He was 65.

Adjowa and Isaac Hayes with baby Nana Kwadjo Photo by: AP Soul singer and former South Park star Isaac Hayes and his wife Adjowa are the parents of a baby boy, the couple have announced.

Nana Kwadjo Hayes – Hayes's fourth son and his first with Adjowa – was born April 10 and weighed 8 lbs., 5 oz., said spokesman Rob Moore.

In the Ghanaian language, according to the Associated Press, Nana means "King" and Kwadjo (pronounced "Kwo-Jo") means "boy born on Monday" (April 10 was, indeed, a Monday).

In 1992, Hayes, was crowned honorary king of Ghana's Ada region in honor of his humanitarian work.

He and Adjowa were married in May 2005.

In January, news sources reported that the Memphis-based Hayes suffered a mild stroke. At the time, friends said the stroke was brought on by exhaustion.

Since 1997, Hayes, best known for his hit song "Theme from Shaft," had voiced the role of South Park's school-cafeteria sage, Chef.

This season, he abruptly quit over what he called the show's disrespect for religion. South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone speculated that Hayes was offended by the show's treatment of his faith, Scientology

I think Peggy Lipton was married to Quincy Jones. Mod Squad was awesome, used to watch the reruns religiously when I was a kid. That and Hawaii 5-0 are two of my favorite shows of all-time.

This is officially an acceptable post in the Triathlon forum because Isaac Hayes died on his TREADMILL.

Tenuous? Yes. But so are 80% of the posts here and if not for them and the ad impressions they generate, Dan would not have been able to afford that fourth home in the Maldives.

Hayes was very talented. i listen to his music just about everyday. he had alot of soul, very smooth. some of his songs can make me cry.

also a talented business man, he went on from recording to produce.

it was a shitty weekend, some of my favorites now gone. Mac and Shaft.
