It will be a great day .
Pace yourself , keep a brave face on if you're around during the C-section .

Plan is a natural pregnancy, but we both understand Potosin increasing the chances of doing a C-section.
Wife wanted to go drug free, but as the contractions get stronger the epidural is sounded better and better to her.

You'll be fine .
Just remember all verbal out bursts are forgiven " no matter the content " .
Don't have your heart set on things happening as you planed " no meds / no C- section ".

First, congratulations! Second, get off the damn computer. Seriously.
My wife was induced with pitocin, and like you, had planned for a drug-free natural delivery. She was a week late also. She suffered through 6 hours of pit-induced contractions, with no corresponding dilation. She finally took the epidural, and delivered 20 hours later. It was the smart decison--she would have been useless to our little guy, had she tried to go without for that length of time. Plus, it's likely that we would have ended up on the OR table for a c-section, given how exhausted she would've been when she finally began to dilate. In addition, there was meconium present, which could have caused serious complications. The more stressed the mother and child, the more likely there is to be meconium present--one more reason to consider the epidural.
We had a beautiful experience; mom was relatively rested, in a managable amount of pain, baby was born alert and healthy, and she had the energy and wherewithall to breastfeed immediately following birth. If we had to do it again, we'd have taken the epidural along with the pitocin, no question about it.
Just my $.02. Good luck & congrats!

your wife is having a baby and you're on ST? If you have extra time go get a run in while you can ;-)
Congrats - send us some pics after - but go be with your wife before she kills you for being on the computer :D

Things are going well. She had an epidural around 4cm and has been super comfortable since then. So comfortable that she's been sleeping the last few hours and has reached 8 cm.
This is the first time I've broken out the computer since this morning other than watching a few Family Guy episodes with her on Hulu.

Congrats and Good Luck!
Remember, better living through modern pharmacology. One of my sisters-in-law was going on and on about how she would be doing it drug free. Everyone had a good laugh when she started yelling for the epidural after the first really big contraction. Oddly enough, there was no such talk when she had her second and third.:-)

Congrats. It's a miracle; I mean I know this is how we're supposed to procreate, but it just seems like a crapshoot every time to me (not a parent). Good to hear everyone's doing well.
