Apple’s iTunes Pitch: TV for $30 a Month Can't Post

http://ow.ly/yT6t - Would you consider this? Lower price? More options?

It's promising but one drawback is live sports. You can already get most tv programming over the web from various legitimate sources. This would just make it easier - especially if it will run through my Apple TV. But, you'd still need traditional tv service for live sports - college football and TDF coverage are the biggies for me.

No, but only because I am a 40-something guy, like HD and I have a home with a nice big screen. If I were a young person living in a small apartment it might have some appeal.

Much, much more interesting is the beginning of the end of the era of cable systems and over the air broadcast affiliates. If the bandwidth becomes available, which it will soon, why wouldn't content originators sell it directly to me the consumer?

If you were a young adult person you would have your computer hooked up to your big screen so it wouldn't matter ;)

I know it's "HD" but 720p resolution or above only makes sense to me on a screen that is at least 40, preferably 50 inches or more wide. Below that it just hogs bandwidth and disk space for an outcome that isn't that great (IMHO). My wife and I have downloaded shows from iTunes onto our iPods and find that "ok" if its the only way to watch while traveling.

Since we got an HD Tivo that has blown all that away. I can transfer shows on to my laptop easily through my network, and the software and interface work great.

If I did not have all this infrastructure already Apple's announcement would be more interesting to me.
