Anyone ever had West Nile Fever?
Can't Post
I think I have it or at least all the symptoms. Got mosquito bites all over me and our area does have the virus. I feel like crap.

That sucks. Hope its just a summer flu.
I've been bitten a lot lately too but so far no fever. I'm also seeing crows around here for the first time in a few years. They all but disappeared when west nile first arrived and now seem to be making a come back.

No. The info I read said it just runs its course and there is not really much that can be done.

A coworker of mine had it. She missed about 7 weeks of work.

I like what the medical website say: "It usually last 2-3 days, or longer"

Yeah I'd go with that one too. Just keep a close eye because hers started with virus like symptoms and developed into a pretty serious illness.

Evidently it is not west nile fever but something like chicken pox that goes by the initials HZO. Anyone had it? Doc said I might be down 2-3 weeks. Just checking if that sounds accurate. I look like a leper.

As I see it, the main symptoms of WNV are fatigue, fever, sweating, nausea, loss of appetite and diarrhoea. Sometimes the skin reddens and there can be loss of consciousness, depending on the form of the virus.
I think I've had it twice: Once in Oceanside, and again in Hawaii. Recovered ok, though, after a bath and a beer.
Get well soon!
