A soldier's final blog

Major Andrew Olmstead was killed last week in Iraq (the first of 2008). He'd made arrangements for a friend to post his final blog in the event of his death. It's touching on so many levels: http://andrewolmsted.com/...8/01/final_post.html.

How eerie and sad.

I was a bit puzzled when the Rocky Mtn News site opened up...then I realized you are local :)

That was beautiful.

And something EVERYONE, no matter what their job or place in life, should take some time to do.

Sad and tragic, but these "letters to home" scenarios remind me of the Viet Nam era when they were regularly used as propaganda to justify that war. I was of age then, so remember that time very well.

I don't think Iraq was a smart move either, so it is very sad any time a young military man loses his life, especially during questionable conflicts such as Viet Nam or Iraq.
